The Toy Fox Terrier: True Blooded Terrier in Miniature

An American breed, the Toy Fox Terrier is a classic big dog in a small dog’s body, with intelligence, courage and a feisty demeanor.
The breed neatly broaches the Toy and Terrier groups, being small in stature but with true, terrier-like attitude. They love to work, whether it be chasing squirrels or flushing out rodents. The breed’s colors are white, chocolate and tan; white and tan; white and black; or tri-color.
Toy Fox Terriers were created by cross-breeding small Smooth Fox Terriers with various toy breeds including the Miniature Pinscher, Italian Greyhound, Chihuahua and Manchester Terrier. The resultant breed, retains all the spirit of the original terriers, but with a slightly milder temperament, inherited from the other breeds used.
If you are thinking about getting a Toy Fox Terrier you’ll find them to be outgoing and friendly, yet fiercely loyal.
They are extremely energetic little dogs who love to play and explore, and make excellent family pets, although they do not tolerate rough handling, and are therefore not recommended for small children.
Their small size makes them ideal for apartment living, although they love to explore the outdoors, so daily walks are necessary. They are easy to groom with a weekly brush quite sufficient to keep the coat in condition.
